    QUALITY ENGINEER

    As a Quality Engineer you contribute to the design, implementation, evaluation and keeping up-to-date of a quality policy within the company. You build long-term relationships with customers and are responsible for overseeing procedural matters.

    This role is pivotal to the company’s success. You contribute to the fact that the company remains an established value in the (automotive) industry.

    Intern at GPQM

    As Quality Engineer your tasks are (intern at GPQM):

    • You are responsible for the continuous follow-up of quality events and you contribute to keeping the QMS up-to-date;
    • You train and coach employees of all levels for Q techniques;
    • You contribute to the development of the internal processes, especially for the Plan and Check activities;
    • You build long-term relationships with customers;
    • You coordinate, direct and coach Problem Solving activities;
    • You help to follow up KPI’s and you improve the visualization of the KPI results by means of graphs and trend reports;
    • You help with the management of quality documents and master documentation on the BMS;
    • It is your job to recognize and signal risks and opportunities for improvement;
    • You are active in the field of internal audits: job audits in C&R, LPAs and internal BMS audits for which you are authorized;
    • You actively help with external audits of customers and with (re)certifications;
    • You actively help to deal with Internal and External customer complaints;
    • With little C&R activity you will also be able to be deployed as an Inspector, or TL or Supervisor;
    • Assisting and sometimes replacing the Resident Engineers in milestone activities such as collecting feedback on prototype and PPAP parts, follow-up of trial runs, approval of packaging, participating in the preparations and introduction of changes.

    External assignments

    With external assignments such as Q-Engineer you are mainly involved in the following activities:

    • entry and exit control, fire walls and containment;
    • collecting and reporting rejection data and performance indicators such as ppm’s, downtime, %u failure, FTT, … and especially with regard to reduced performance by suppliers;
    • analysis, documentation and reporting of errors and rejects, followed by follow-up of 8D activities due to internal and external causes;
    • maintaining good contacts with suppliers
    • participate in and make preparations for all kinds of job-related meetings, such as the daily production meeting, weekly and/or monthly team meetings, evaluation of existing suppliers, …

    The job description of each Quality engineer on each external assignment is described in the scope of each assignment, which is specified in the specific.

    Who are you?

    • You are open to innovation and continuous improvement;
    • If necessary, you can work in a flexible system: this is not a 9 to 5 job. Internal audits and training may also be required on the night shift;
    • You can work well in a team, but you are also able to work independently;
    • You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English, both oral and written. Good understanding of French and German are a plus;
    • You are pragmatic and you work in a result-oriented and customer-oriented way;
    • You work professionally and can communicate fluently at different levels: from workers to managers;
    • Your PC knowledge is good and includes Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook;
    • You have a practical basic knowledge of SPC, especially in the field of attribute maps;
    • You can work in an automotive environment, concepts such as JIT, FIFO and 8D are familiar to you;
    • You respect the confidentiality of all processes, methods and procedures.
    • You have knowledge of the most current quality systems, e.g. ISO-9001;
    • You have a technical education: minimum A2 or equivalent through at least 3 years of experience;
    • You have at least 1 year of work experience in quality management activities.
